Winter Solstice: Embracing the "Return to Light" and What Truly Matters
Episode Description:
Join Kim & Jill as we reflect on the recent winter solstice, not as a big celebration, but as an energetic shift and a "return to the light." We explore how these natural cycles influence us and then dive into a fascinating discussion about the things that bother us. We tackle the intriguing concept of the Flat Earth theory, using it as a springboard to question what really matters in our lives and how much energy we invest in arguing points that might not change our day-to-day reality. Get ready to shift your perspective and embrace what truly resonates!
Key Takeaways:
- Winter Solstice as an Energetic Shift: Understand the solstice as a natural process of shifting energy and frequencies, moving from darkness towards increasing light.
- Perspective on Solstices: It's not about grand celebrations, but recognizing inherent energetic changes.
- The Power of Perspective: Does it truly matter if the Earth is flat or round in your daily life? How much energy do we spend on debates that don't impact our immediate reality?

hello, lovely listeners, and good morning.
good morning, everyone. we just went through the winter solstice.
yay. return to the light. yay. yep.
it, um, i am not a big, like, celebrator, anything big hoopla's when it comes to the solstices. it's just, like, recognizing, okay, that we're we're just going through another energetic shift, energetic pattern, um, different sets of, say, frequencies coming through the sunlight again. it's like, okay. we went from one way, we're going dark, dark, now we're shifting more into light. like, that's that's kinda how i see it. it just is what it is. it's a process that continuously happens.
yep.
um, cool. and then so we were talking, uh, what is this topic today? and we were kind of going back and forth, and it really comes down to those things that, say, bother you. those things that bother you and you have to sit there and argue with somebody, like, that you are right. uh, one concept, and i'm not let's have an open mind here when i say this stuff. okay. but the the flat earth the flat earth theory. so we have, um, some people believe the earth is flat, some people who believe the world is still round. i kinda i go back and forth, honestly. i could see both viewpoints. i really can. but to me, does it really matter in my life right now, what i'm living? does that matter if the earth is flat, or does it matter if the earth is round? am i letting that consume me, and then am i, like, trying to argue my point with another person? that creates internal damage, internal struggles, internal, um, judgments. then as we talk about judgments, it goes into, like, we stop we don't feel good. we aren't aligning with our higher self. we're not aligning in these higher vibrations of just love and light.
yeah. another one that i heard recently, was, uh, a fairly famous musician who was saying, you know, basically saying stop carrying the political affiliation of your neighbors. none of your business. and your business is your own political stuff and, you know, basically, it was saying your business is to to like your neighbors. love them if you can. enjoy them regardless of that stuff. and i was like, wow, that is that's really amazing to hear this. the the thing is is when we whatever the division is, one, once we divide, then we start to fight. and now we're not enjoying life, and we are not returning to the light when we do that. yep. we are going the other direction. and there's, you know, there's value sometimes in going away from the light, if you will, because it gives contrast. it gives you, you know, reference, if you will, of where you do want to go. like, it has that value. but you have to be careful when you start, you know, engaging, say, in arguments or defending or separation, because you can get really swept up to in it, and you can then miss out on like you said, does it really matter? you can actually miss out. the reason we have to be really careful is because you can actually miss out on your own life. you're not living your life. you are fighting with thoughts in your head and in other people's head. yep.
yep. and i see like a like a judge hitting his gravel. do do do. the kid is sad. uh, it we can have fun. you can get kind of playful when you hear things. when you can kind of hear both sides without anger, judgment, that's a good spot to be in. yeah. it's like, okay, you know your views, you know your beliefs, but you're open to hear other aspects. great. doesn't mean you need to conform to their aspects, it just means that you're you're in a very good space within yourself. but if you are one of those people that somebody's saying something to you like, no, that can't be. you're wrong. like, don't no. no. no. that tells you you're you're not in a good headspace.
right. and so, you know, with the solstice, back to the solstice thing. i'm i'm like you, i'm not huge on on rituals or that kind of thing, you know, celebrations for a season changes kind of thing, but i do acknowledge it. and i do like to play more in the, like, not the moment of it happening, but the the experience of it. so, you know, between now in the northern hemisphere anyway, between now and summer, we are that's why it's called the return to light. the days get longer and longer and longer. we will gain light and have less darkness. and that to me is like a metaphor for what we need to do in our own minds. bring more lights. bring more light. and the light when we're talking light, a lot of times that to me, what we talk about is being playful and that childlike curiosity and wonder. it's how i describe it like today. that's what we're saying. like, you wanna go and explore, um, flat earth stuff, go for it. do it with that childlike, you know, wonder and enthusiasm and discovery, and then keep yourself though from, you know, wanting to divide and fight over it with someone. that's where we get, you know, in spiritual world, things are called attachment. you're getting attached to a concept, then you wanna fight for that concept. okay. now you're moving away from the light again. so the, you know, just like as the days get longer and longer here, remind yourself, you know, over the course of months here, we talk about it being a practice. remind yourself if you're, you know, am i continually returning to the light as much as i can. you don't need to be in it all of the time. but in any given day, at the end of the day, you sure would hope that you'd sit there and go, that was a good day.
yep.
even the even the ones that were challenged. did you make it, you know, the best that you could in that challenge? to me, that's what the season changes are that's what the changes are about, is to get us to see those kinds of things, to see with the contrast and decide where we wanna go with it. so
i just love it.
yeah.
but that is your winter solstice.
yeah. alright. oh.
oh, yeah.
